In July 2017, Alice took a substantial step towards expanding her offerings by completing the process to become a Certified TRE® Provider. Developed by David Berceli, PhD., TRE® stands for Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises. This series of 7 non-strenuous, easy to learn physical exercises is designed to activate a natural process to gently release stress and tension that has accumulated in our muscles and connective tissue for any reason - whether it be day-to-day life stress, past or ongoing chronic challenges, or sudden traumatic events. TRE® helps gradually down-regulate the nervous system, giving us the opportunity to find increased resilience, improved relationships, and more contentment.
Alice regulary incorporates TRE® into her own self-care routine as a complement to her running, walking, and yoga practices. She is particularly interested in sharing this highly effective technique with athletes, with parents of chronically ill children, with family and professional caregivers of Alzheimer's/dementia patients, and with adults whose childhoods (and hence their developing nervous systems) were impacted by adversities such as parental substance abuse or divorce.
