amrita yoga through the DAYA Foundation
Deepen your exploration of yoga in a supportive community through avenues such as breath practices, meditation, chanting, physical yoga postures, yoga philosophy, and yoga psychology.
- Mondays from 7:00am-8:15am Pacific Time (ongoing weekly class with Alice, offered online via Zoom)

- Portions of drop-in fees go towards supporting the DAYA Foundation's Yoga Outreach Programs in institutions such as prisons, hospitals, schools, and rehabilitation facilities.
TRE® & Yoga for a Calmer Nervous System Series
Enhance the calming effects of yoga by blending it with TRE® (Tension & Trauma Release Exercises), a movement-based approach to down-regulating the nervous system. In addition to TRE®, class will include background information about the nervous system through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, gentle yoga poses, breathing techniques, and chanting practices thoughtfully selected to promote calm and relaxation. Participants must be able to comfortably get up from and down to the floor. Class is intended for individuals experiencing mild to moderate stress. Click here to learn more about TRE®.

Yoga for Runners & Walkers Series
Enjoy the company of other running and walking enthusiasts as you explore how to develop or deepen a yoga practice to complement your active lifestyle. Improve flexibility, strength, breathing technique, postural alignment, balance, and body awareness. Learn skills that will help you derive more enjoyment from your running or walking and help you reduce your risk of injury. Experiment with sequences you might integrate into your pre-run/walk warm-up or post-run/walk cool down routine. Explore how principles of yoga philosophy can help support a healthy and sustainable approach to fitness. Sample simple meditation practices you can use on the yoga mat, road, trail, or track to transform your runs or walks into moving meditations that will promote relaxation and boost vitality.

Yoga for Nurturing Your Inner Child Series
Seek to transform suffering from early life experiences into compassion for yourself and others through yoga sequences inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh's book "Reconciliation: Healing Your Inner Child". All levels are welcome, but participants should be able to get up from and down to the floor with ease. Class sessions will include short readings from Thich Nhat Hanh's book, simple meditation practices, breathing practices, chanting, and a balance of dynamic and restful physical yoga poses.

- Weekly themes might include cultivating the energy of mindfulness in order to look deeply at unresolved childhood wounds; lovingly inviting your inner child to accompany you in daily life (on and off the yoga mat); fostering intergenerational healing retroactively to our ancestors and proactively to our descendants; learning from suffering; accepting impermanence; releasing tension from the body; strengthening our foundation of joy and happiness; and recognizing how transforming our own suffering opens us up for deeper, more authentic connections with others.

Private Yoga Sessions By Appointment
Alice is also happy to schedule individual yoga sessions or private group yoga sessions by appointment via Zoom. She has experience teaching yoga and meditation to special populations, including runners, walkers, and other recreational and competitive athletes, military personnel, and veterans. Alice has also completed advanced training in Yoga Psychology as part of her RYT 500 certification, as well as specialized training in Trauma-Informed Brain Sensitive (TIBS) Yoga.
